It’s been a long time coming!

In 2012, I was diagnosed with discoid lupus, pre-diabetes and polycystic ovarian syndrome. My physical, mental, emotional and spiritual bodies were in complete dis-ease and the evidence was there to prove it. I knew I had a dislike of needles so I could NOT allow myself to develop full blown diabetes for fear of the daily finger prick. I also knew that I did not personally desire to be dependent on medications, therefore the waves of health insurance policies. And on and on. When I left the doctors office after each diagnosis, my world just got more isolating. There was so much I did not know or understand about how to take care of myself, but what I knew at least was that I needed to try and that I wanted to live. Ten years later, my earlier schooling in the healthcare field which includes nursing, dietary nutrition and psychology, has collided with later studies of environmental science, permaculture and agricultural systems, allowing me to now be able to grow, harvest and blend my own herbs to make the teas and products you find in Moonchild Botanica today.

I wish to share some of the engineering behind Chiron’s Tea and share my love of all things nature + natural with you (: Shall we continue?

Herbal teas, often referred to as “tisanes,” have been consumed worldwide for centuries. Recent research continues to underscore the therapeutic properties of these natural infusions. A variety of studies have linked herbal teas to an array of health benefits ranging from improved digestion to reduced oxidative stress and inflammation. As people increasingly seek natural remedies for their health concerns, the prominence of herbal teas as potent health allies continues to rise.

Key Herbs in Chiron’s Tea:

  • Red Clover: A flowering plant used traditionally to manage skin conditions. Research suggests it contains isoflavones which might aid in reducing menopausal symptoms and promote heart health.
  • Mullein: Historically used for its anti-inflammatory properties, mullein is commonly used as a remedy for respiratory conditions such as bronchitis and asthma.
  • Lemon Balm: Recognized for its calming effects, lemon balm may help reduce anxiety, improve sleep, and alleviate digestive complaints.
  • Rose: Beyond its fragrant appeal, rose tea can serve as a rich source of antioxidants. It may also support skin health and provide relief from menstrual discomfort.
  • Chamomile: One of the most popular herbal teas, chamomile is prized for its relaxing qualities. It may help reduce insomnia, combat inflammation, and soothe digestive ailments.
  • Mint: Known for its refreshing aroma, mint tea can help soothe digestive issues, reduce headaches, and has potential anti-inflammatory properties.
  • Cinnamon: This aromatic spice is often used to regulate blood sugar levels, reduce inflammation, and is packed with antioxidants.

Creating an herbal blend that combines all of these potent herbs can offer a holistic approach to well-being. Not only will it be a symphony of flavors and aromas, but its cumulative health benefits could range from supporting respiratory and cardiovascular health to enhancing relaxation and digestion.

In my humble opinion, this fusion could provide an enriched experience that transcends the advantages of consuming each herb separately, offering a comprehensive elixir for overall health and vitality. It’s truly a win-win!
